Frequently asked questions – Italy-Turkey ferries
Q: Whom can I contact for information on rates and departures, or to make a reservation?
A: You can contact our Information and Reservations Office at telephone number +39 0712076165 or ask at a travel agency of your choice.

Q: What is involved in the check-in process?
A: The term "check-in" refers to the sum total of operations (control of ID documents, control of travelling documents etc.) that must be performed at the Company’s port offices prior to departure of the ship.

Q: How can I obtain an invoice for my trip?
A: Passengers are given a copy of the ticket as a receipt.

Q: How much time before the departure of the ship must I arrive at the port in order to go through check-in?
A: At least two hours before the departure of the ship.

Q: I have reserved cabin/chair arrangements. Whom should I see for assignment of my place?
A: You can go to the onboard reception, which will present you with the key to the cabin and provide you with any information you desire on other onboard arrangements.

Q: If I pay for a cabin, do I have to share it with other passengers?
A: If you pay for a cabin on a “sole use” basis, there will be no other passengers inside, but if you pay for a bed inside a cabin, then you may find yourself sharing it with other passengers.

Q: Whom should I contact to change a reservation made at a travel agency?
A: You must always deal with the travel agency where the reservation was made.

Q: If I lose a personal belonging on the ship, whom should I go to for help?
A: You can ask the onboard personnel for help or, once you leave the boat, go to the Miatrade office in the port of destination.

Q: Which highway exit should I take to reach the Port of Ancona?
A: Those travelling north on the A14 Highway should get off at the “Ancona-sud” exit and follow the directions for the Port, while those travelling south on the A14 should get off at “Ancona-nord” and follow the directions for “Ancona centro” (“Downtown Ancona”) and then the port/embarkation area.

Q: Where should I pick up tickets I have reserved?
A : For departures from Ancona, the tickets are picked up at the maritime station. For departures from other ports, the tickets shall be sent by express courier, or a fax-ticket shall be sent.

Q: What documents are needed to go to Turkey?
A: Italian passengers need a passport or a municipal ID card valid for going abroad. All other passengers should consult the pertinent authorities (border police/municipal police headquarters).

A: Children aged zero to four years travel free, as long as they do not take up a seat. Children from five to twelve years old receive a discount of 50%.

Q : What is an "open-date" ticket?
A : A ticket valid for the season. The date of the return trip can be left open when the reservation is made and then set at a later point in time at any office of the Marmara Lines, assuming places are available. If the return trip is not used, reimbursement must be requested before the end of the year underway.

Q: What should I do if, after buying a ticket, I can no longer take the trip?
A: You must communicate cancellation of the reservation to a Marmara Lines agency before the date of departure. In accordance with the “general conditions” for the trip, you shall be entitled to a reimbursement. This reimbursement can be made only by the agency that issued the ticket.

Q: What do I do if I lose my ticket?
A: You should communicate that the ticket has been lost and purchase a new one. Tickets that have been lost, and that are not used subsequently, shall be reimbursed 6 months after the date on which the new ticket is issued.
